Yes, it's a round military canopy. I think the US airborne still uses it.

Actually, in an interview with General Kolmakovym (http://www.russk.ru/st.php?idar=1002281), he mentions the 31st sometimes has trouble scheduling jumps with an IL-76 because of the airfield situation, and has to scrounge up AN-2's, sometimes falling short of the 6-jump schedule (at least I think that's what he's saying with Google

Hopefully not sounding like a pain in the @ss, I had two other questions, hope you don't mind!
1. It's all over the internet that Ft Benning qualifies w/5 jumps (1 night); I've seen here and there that Omsk (242nd) requires 3 (1 night), is that right?
2. What did you think of "9 Pota"? I like how the movie portrayed them as just regular guys in a screwed up situation. Thanks.
I have 3 myself with a T-10, the first solo free fall (that's right!!) and next 2 static line at about 1000 meters (from Cesna's). So, you try to meet the 6 jump per year Commando schedule at least? It must be pretty tough being a separate brigade, and especially for say the 11th, way out on the frontier!
